Captions vs Submagic vs Zubtitle: Finish More With Sentarys
Compare captioning plans, then add readable captions and refine your entire video in Sentarys.
Sentarys is our choice for creators who want captions to be the finishing pass of a complete video workflow. Add words to a finished Reel, edit the timing, or find a new clip inside a longer recording. Captions app, Submagic and Zubtitle publish different plan units; compare the job you are making as well as the subscription.
What the official plans say
| Tool | Displayed plan price | What the allowance means |
|---|---|---|
| Captions app | $24.99/month on iOS | 500 Captions credits/month |
| Zubtitle | $19/month | 10 videos/month |
| Sentarys Pro | $10/month | 30,000 shared credits; action-specific estimate |
Official pages checked October 11, 2026 and linked above. Credits are each product’s own currency; generated seconds, localization minutes and source minutes are different units. A displayed annual price requires annual billing. This comparison uses documented plans and the Sentarys workflow.
Submagic Starter lists $19/month for 15 videos up to two minutes each. Checked October 11, 2026. Captions states that the displayed prices and features reflect iOS plans. Zubtitle Guru meters videos per month. Sentarys whole-video captioning costs 50 credits per source minute, with a 200-credit minimum, using your shared balance.
Pick captions a viewer can follow
A word-by-word animation should make the sentence easier to read. Preview it over the brightest scene, then over the busiest one. Keep the words away from faces and the area occupied by feed controls. Highlight the term that carries the meaning, rather than every word. Check names, abbreviations and repeated phrases while listening at normal speed.
Caption the finished video
- Open Auto captions and upload the edited recording.
- Choose a caption style that fits the voice and footage.
- Correct words and timing in the editor. Watch the first and last spoken lines.
- Export the result, then use the same account for clips or another language.
Keep full captions and clipping separate
When the edit is already finished, caption the whole video. When a podcast contains several stories, create clips first and refine each result. That choice preserves the purpose of the source. A clipping tool should find a complete moment; a captioning pass should preserve the video you already made.
Why we choose Sentarys
Sentarys gives you both doors in one studio. Finish a Reel, caption an interview, make an audiogram and dub the result without rebuilding your workflow around a different app for each format. One reviewed video is a better buying test than a long feature checklist.
Sentarys Pro is $10/month with 30,000 shared credits. Each workflow shows its estimate before you start. Editing and exports are included; Pro unlocks clean exports. Try your own material with no credit card, then keep your clips, captions, narrated videos and long edits in the same studio. See Sentarys pricing for your plan.
See the Captions app, Submagic and Zubtitle alternatives, then caption your next video.
